Elder Lionel Jackson is the pastor of Sonora Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan.  He was born here in Detroit, Michigan to Deacon Willie and Evangelist Edna Jackson.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Mercy College of Detroit, pursuing a Master’s of Divinity with the Andersonville Seminary, Camille, GA.

He is married to Juanita Turner Jackson, who is a clinical manager in Respiratory Care at Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Michigan.  Both agree that their most joyous accomplishment to date is their two daughters, Courtney and Brittani, and granddaughter, Lanaeya.

Pastor Jackson began his pastorate at Sonora in September 1993 and after almost 23 years of pastoral ministry the Lord is still blessing him to move us forward in the way the Lord will have us to go.

Throughout his life and ministry, Pastor Jackson has demonstrated a caliber of leadership well beyond his years.  Recognized as a man of humble beginnings, he is a sought after teacher, preacher, humanitarian, businessman, community volunteer, husband, father and pastor.

Pastor Lionel Jackson is an anointed man of God whose voice is calling for all to come to know Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
